welcome you to the Gospel Defender Ministries website and are
honored that you have taken the time to "check us out." It is
our hope that you will visit us several times and that you will tell
others about our site. We believe that the materials offered
here will be of great benefit to every Christian and especially to
those who preach and teach the Word of God. Here is a brief
overview of our ministry.
Our History: The Gospel Defender Ministries aired its
first radio broadcast on Sunday, March 2, 1980 over WPAY,
Parkersburg, West Virginia and has been broadcasting on other radio
stations since that date. The ministry was officially
incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, tax exempt, corporation on
October 15, 1984.
Our Mission: The sole mission of the Gospel Defender
Ministries is to preach and teach "the
whole counsel of God" to the whole world by whatever
means is made available to the ministry with the ultimate purpose of
discipling and converting men, women, boys, and girls to Christ and
then to edify them after their conversion. At the present
time, this mission is being accomplished in a variety of ways: the
publication of The Gospel Defender Journal, reaching over
20,000 people; written gospel materials including booklets,
pamphlets, and correspondence course lessons; CD and cassette
messages; radio broadcasts; special revival and seminar meetings;
and, of course, through the Internet.
Our Staff: The staff of the Gospel Defender Ministries
is small, composed of three people. First, the Lord Jesus
Christ heads the Ministry as "the head of
the body, the church." Second, Rick Breidenbaugh is
the speaker and is the author of almost all of the publications
produced. And, third, Rick's wife, Nancy, is his main
supporter, encourager, and lady-of-all-trades. The secretarial
skills that she has used throughout her life in governmental
positions are invaluable assets to the ministry. Then, of course,
there is a very important network of Christian brethren who pray
for, financially support, and encourage the ministry to continue.
